The event was attended by representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, students and academic staff of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Rector of the Diplomatic Academy, Professor A. Kylychev, and the Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Corresponding Member B. Khudaibergenova, addressed the participants with welcoming words.
Further, during the lecture, Mr Robert Floyd, a prominent diplomat and expert in the area of nuclear disarmament, presented a unique opportunity for students, teachers and scientists of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic to learn about the current challenges and prospects in the field of nuclear security.
Highly appreciating the steps taken by Kyrgyzstan, in particular its accession to significant international legal instruments on disarmament, Mr Robert Floyd stressed the need for further joint work to address the pressing problems of our time, among which ensuring global security and sustainable development is seen as particularly important.
At the end of the lecture, students and professors asked questions on the topic of the lecture and expressed their gratitude for the interesting information.
This lecture continued the practice of guest lectures and aroused great interest among the academic staff and students of the Diplomatic Academy.
