The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic

On 7 September 2023, the Regional Seminar: "The Role of Education in Strengthening the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Regime" was held in Bishkek. The event was organised by the Centre for Energy and Security (CES) and the E.M. Primakov Centre for Foreign Policy Cooperation in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. The seminar is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the initiative to establish a nuclear-weapon-free zone in Central Asia. The Treaty on a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in the region, of which the Kyrgyz Republic is the depositary, was signed on 8 September 2006 and entered into force on 21 March 2009.

The seminar provided a unique platform for dialogue and exchange of experience in the field of nuclear non-proliferation. The event attracted scientists, experts, academics, representatives of the research and expert community and civil societies from a number of countries.

The plenary session discussed key topics, one of which was "The Role of Education in Strengthening the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Regime".

At the regional seminar were invited and took part in the plenary session "The role of education and new generation experts in strengthening the nuclear non-proliferation regime" teaching staff of the Diplomatic Academy of the MFA of the Kyrgyz Republic senior lecturer Osmonbetov _Edil Kubatovich, students of Master's and Bachelor's degrees of "International Relations" direction: Aripova Sezim, Biigeldiev Asanbek, Isaeva Aibike.
